Another piece of conceptual packaging, also very much a work in progress...
This is...maybe the third or fourth attempt to design a DVD cover for Layer Cake, inspired by the brief "fcuk reality" fantasy sequence which lays out the vaguely disturbing but nonetheless cleverly satirical notion of a high street store selling powerful narcotics in sleek, seductive packages. Similar to the Topaz concept, explicit mentions of the film are pushed to the margins. That said, I aim to make all my packaging designs functional, so the necessary conventions are there. This one would probably need a slipcase with the original artwork - not sure this would pass muster with the VPRC.  |
